Ching-Hsien Chen is working on flow of complex fluids in confined geometries. The work will investigate the flow of foams with a polymeric liquids phase having a high viscosity and complex rheology. After finishing an MSc (Physics) at National Chiao-Tung University and an MSc (Interdisciplinary Mathematics) at University of Warwick, he completed his PhD in Engineering at the University of Warwick in 2013. He joined the Inkjet Research Centre at the University of Cambridge in February 2014 to work on additive manufacturing and the application of inkjet to novel manufacturing process. Later, he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology in February 2016. His research interests include instrumentation development for interdisciplinary research, experimental fluid dynamics, and high speed flow phenomena such as droplet breakup, rapid mixing and cavitation bubble.
