A paper co authored by members of this department is listed among the most cited of the year 2011 in the Green Chemistry Journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The paper is:
Glycerol eutectics as sustainable solvent systems, by Andrew P. Abbott, Robert C. Harris, Karl S. Ryder, Carmine D'Agostino, Lynn F. Gladden and Mick D. Mantle, Green Chemistry, 2011, volume 13, pages 82-90.
The work has been undertaken in collaboration with the group of Prof. Andy Abbott from the Department of Chemistry, University of Leicester and the Cambridge authors are Carmine D'Agostino, Dr. Mick Mantle and Prof. Lynn Gladden. The work is a part of The Glycerol Challenge project funded by the Technology Strategy Board and is on the properties of glycerol eutectics as non-toxic, tunable solvents in green chemistry applications. The Cambridge team have worked on understanding the diffusion mechanism in such solvents using PFG-NMR techniques.
