Research Open Day
24 June 2009

Research Open Day attendees
The Department's Research Open Day took place on Wednesday 24th June 2009.
The event was entitled "Research Visions for the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology" and presented a picture of the research being undertaken by young researchers in the department that addresses current needs in healthcare and environmental sustainability.
The event was very well attended and members of the Department mingled with representatives from industry and academia. Some of our alumni also attended.

In addition to the presentations given, there was also a poster session and after a vote was taken amongst the delegates, Prof Lynn Gladden presented the prize for best poster to Thomas Pintelon for his poster Biofouling simulation using Lattice Boltzmann.
After the formal sessions, there was an opportunity for networking over some light refreshments.
