Catalysis is responsible for the vast majority of current industrial chemical processes and is the key technology in our goal towards more sustainable, technologically advanced society. Applied catalysis is approached from both, chemistry and chemical engineering disciplines, targeting design of new materials, preparation of catalysts, new reactor technology, etc. Reaction engineering is the enabling discipline, grounded in fundamental knowledge of applied mathematics and physics to solve numerical problems of reactor and catalyst design.
Applied Catalysis and Reaction Engineering is a PhD and early career researchers focused event. The event will bring together the research community in these important areas of science and engineering.
This event will specifically address the links between the rigour of reaction engineering and innovation of applied catalysis disciplines, and is aimed at chemistry, bio-catalysis and chemical engineering communities.
Presentations will be given by eminent keynote speakers from both academia and industry, as well as young researchers in the area. A poster and lecture competition will be held and important networking opportunities will be provided throughout the event.
