BP visited the department yesterday evening, Wednesday 7 October 2015, and presented generous prizes to undergraduates for good performance last year in their second year (CET I).
Firstly, the representatives from BP described the company's summer internship scheme, then they distributed cheques and copies of Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook to the prize winners. After the formal part of the evening, there was a social event with drinks and pizzas.
Four students have been awarded BP prizes for outstanding performance:
- Ray Aun Fan (M)
- Alexa Strobel (N)
- Ruochen Yang (M)
- Jieqin Zhou (M)
Five students have been awarded BP prizes for outstanding coursework:
- Tanvi Ahuja (TH)
- Melissa Chee (N)
- Andrea Premoli (T)
- Konstantinos Tipos (CTH)
- Keiler Totz (PEM)
There were also BP achievement prizes to all students who were awarded a First in CET I last year and there were smaller BP achievement prizes to all students who were awarded a Class II.1.
In total, 56 students received a cheque and a large number of Perry's were distributed.
