The Symposium was attended by many leading Saudi and Japanese researchers form both academia and industry, and offered the chance to showcase some of the work currently being undertaken in CEB. Our department has a very successful collaboration with KFUPM on understanding and exploiting carbon laydown on framework materials led by Professor Lynn Gladden and Professor Sulaiman Al-Khattaf (KFUPM).

Following the meeting, Liam and James stayed for an additional three days discussing current and future research opportunities and viewing the impressive KFUPM laboratory facilities.
