CEB researchers invited to present at Saudi-Japan symposium

Dr James McGregor (Sheffield), Dr Liam McMillan, Professor Sulaiman Al-Khattaff (Director, Centre of Research Excellence in Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals, KFUPM) and Mr Waqas Aslam (Researcher, KFUPM)

Dr Liam McMillan and Dr James McGregor (University of Sheffield) were recently invited to give presentations at the 22nd Annual Saudi-Japan Symposium: Catalysts in Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dharhan, Saudi Arabia.

The Symposium was attended by many leading Saudi and Japanese researchers form both academia and industry, and offered the chance to showcase some of the work currently being undertaken in CEB. Our department has a very successful collaboration with KFUPM on understanding and exploiting carbon laydown on framework materials led by Professor Lynn Gladden and Professor Sulaiman Al-Khattaf (KFUPM).

Following the meeting, Liam and James stayed for an additional three days discussing current and future research opportunities and viewing the impressive KFUPM laboratory facilities.
