Congratulations to Roz Williams and Gareth Evans for their success in Continuing Professional Development.
Gareth has passed his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Applied Science (QCF*) with a double distinction from Cambridge Regional College and is now studying an HNC in Biological Sciences on day release.
Gareth is a lab assistant and his section head, Roz Williams said, "I think it is wonderful that Gareth is so keen to develop himself and improve his knowledge and skills".
Roz has been awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (QCF*).
Roz is Chief Teaching Laboratory Technician, Deputy Biological Safety Officer and Gas Safety Trainer. Her work includes managing a team of technicians, helping and advising researchers and undergraduates, planning new laboratory facilities, selecting and purchasing new equipment, organising service contracts, organising and facilitating examinations / exam venues and liasing with EMBS and other visiting contractors/ service engineers. She is also the Unite Health and Safety Representative.
Her level 2 counselling course is run by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She said, "It was complementary to the Institute of Leadership and Management level 5 qualification that I attained two years ago. I would recommend anyone to attend a course of this nature, especially if they manage others, as it encourages self reflection, self awareness, empathy, good listening and embraces equality and diversity."
