On 17 February 2012, Cambridge University Chinese Orchestra Society (CUCOS) gave their Annual Concert “Eastern Rhapsody”.

Several Chemical Engineering students were actively involved, including undergraduates Thomas Ng (part IIB), Shirley Lau, Ada Yihan Mao and Lindsay Qiurong Yu (all part IIAs) and PhD student Wenting Hu.

CUCOS was founded in May 2007 with the goal of boosting the understanding and appreciation of both eastern and western cultures by discovering the beauty of oriental music through the introduction of a new generation of musical perspectives to the communities in the UK.

This year and last there has been a particularly strong contribution of students from Chemical Engineering with 9 members in total and Ning Xiao being the Vice President of CUCOS from 2010 to 2011.
