An informative and highly energetic Workshop took place in CEB Lecture Theatre 2 on Thursday 9 June 2016. The overall theme was EU Horizon 2020 funding, with particular reference to Maria Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) fellowships.
A 'near capacity crowd' (over 50 people) attended from 5 different Cambridge departments. Additionally, one researcher made the journey from University College London to be there.
The session provided guidance on MCSA funded research fellowships, which is a dedicated programme for structuring researcher training, whilst promoting mobility and career development.
The session was introduced by Professor Chris Lowe. Renata Schaeffer, the University of Cambridge European Policy & Strategy Manager, gave an overview of European research funding schemes, including Horizon 2020 and MSCA. Graham Dransfield, CEB's Knowledge Transfer Facilitator then gave specific advice on how to make a successful application for MSCA funding.
The Workshop was highly participative, with a wide range of questions. Feedback from attendees has been very positive.
PIs looking for talented researchers and international collaboration are most welcome to a follow-up Workshop, in the TCR Meeting Room, at 3pm on Wednesday June 29th.
