CEB hosted a lively and productive workshop on European Funding on May 21st 2015 in Lecture Theatre 2.
There were group exercises (with prizes) and a young audience of 40 (mainly from CEB and Chemistry Departments) listened attentively to the presentations. The first was by Renata Schaeffer, the University European Policy Manager. Renata outlined Horizon 2020 funding in general and the Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) mobility scheme, in particular. Drawing on his long experience as an Evaluator, CEB Knowledge Transfer Facilitator Graham Dransfield then talked about how to optimise your MSCA funding application. There was insightful advice for early stage researchers and PIs.
The afternoon maintained a high energy level throughout. There were numerous searching questions for 'the experts'. Graham also commented that it was the first time he had organised a Workshop where more people had turned up on the day than had signed up.
Thanks go to Michaela McNeill for organising the badges (many at the last minute) and dealing with the unexpected 'gate crashers' and to David Baynard for taking the photographs.
Early feedback has been very positive. If you missed the workshop, Graham is happy to share the slides with you. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
