Laser Analytics Group running to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research

Good luck to Nathan, Florian, and Laurie, running the 2014 Bupa London 10K for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

One of the central research themes  in the Laser Analytics Group is the development of modern laser imaging methods that shed light on the molecular mechanisms of devastating diseases. They use lasers to study the aggregation of proteins and the debilitating effects that this can have in people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Not only do they train their lasers in the fight against these diseases, but also their bodies:  three committed scientists Laurie Young, Florian Ströhl and Nathan Curry are training hard to run the Bupa London 10k race on 25 May 2014 to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity which helps fund research into the disease and allows us - and many other scientists - to carry out vital research that may one day lead to a cure.
