Cancer, we're coming to get you

The city centre of Cambridge turned pink on Sunday, 21 July 2013, as 7,000 women ran, jogged or walked to raise money for the fight against cancer. The Race for Life is a women-only 5km event weaving its way around the city’s landmarks and Cancer Research UK hope to raise £480,000. Many ladies were running for friends and relatives who are fighting the disease and in memory of others who have succumbed to it.

Among the participants was our receptionist, Michaela McNeill, who jogged the course in the name of two of her friends. One of those is Vanessa Blake, one of the Computer Officers at the Department, and she went along to Parker's Piece to see Michaela off and wish her well.

We congratulate Michaela on completing the course and emphatically exceeding her target for money raised.
