The Group has won several awards over the years as a recognition of its outstanding research:

•  2001 IChemE Fluids Mixing top prize for PhD project on 'The mixing of liquids by bubble plumes'.
•  2002 IChemE Fluids Mixing top prize for PhD project on 'Mixing of discharges from coastal outfalls'.
•  2003 Danckwerts-Pergamon Prize for best thesis of 2002 in Dept of Chemical Engineering, University of Cambridge, on 'Modelling bubble patterns and nucleation in sodium acetate heat packs'.
•  2004 Danckwerts-Pergamon Prize for best thesis of 2003, Dept of Chemical Engineering, University of Cambridge on 'Mixing of discharges from coastal outfalls'.
•  2005 IChemE Fluids Mixing top prize for PhD project on 'The dynamics of oceanic CO₂ plumes'.
