M.Phil. Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology

The MPhil is a research degree which, in appropriate circumstances, may count towards the entrance requirements for the Ph.D. Almost without exception students commence their studies with the intention of applying to pursue a higher degree. MPhil candidates undertake a novel piece of research under academic supervision and are examined by thesis and oral examination.

Course description

This is a research degree examined by thesis and oral only. Candidates will undertake a novel piece of research under academic supervision.

Entry requirements

Candidates should normally have taken a first degree and achieved the minimum of a second class honours or equivalent in chemical engineering, a biological science, engineering, chemistry, applied mathematics, physics or related subjects.

A limited number of studentships may be available for the highest attaining UK and EU applicants covering fees and (depending on status) maintenance
