Official Opening

Following the completion of a phased move, we are delighted to announce that we are now settled into our new building at the heart of the University’s West Cambridge site. In order to share our success, we will be inviting our neighbours, University officials, department alumni and donors, academic and industry partners old and new, to attend the official opening ceremony of the new Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology new building planned for Tuesday 24 April 2018.

CEB's state of the art facilities house a fantastic hub of multidisciplinary research activity and expertise in key areas of global impact, hence facilitating interaction and collaboration among the diverse research groups here and beyond. This environment also allows academics and researchers to fulfill CEB's mission to provide the highest quality of teaching and research. We are then excited about sharing our activities and achievements with our supporters and we are looking forward to celebrating this milestone with them.

A special programme is currently being organised to mark this important occasion and more detailed information will be released in due course.  However, we are able to confirm at this stage that our Guest of Honour, the University Chancellor Lord Sainsbury of Turville, will be formally opening the building in the morning. The rest of the day will be focused on showcasing our talent and research activities to our special guests in attendance.  There will also be a diverse range of exciting lab demos, tours around the building and a series of engaging talks by young researchers on offer.

Please check this page regularly for programme updates. Registration for the event is now closed.
