As CEB prepares to move into a new home in West Cambridge in summer 2015 leading academics will take attendees on a trip down memory lane focusing on the department history and development: From our separate ‘humble’ beginnings from the Shell Building in Pembroke St and a small hut in Tennis court Rd to a ‘marriage of love’ culminating in the Chemical Engineering merger with Biotechnology back in 2008. The merger marked an important breakthrough in our department history, which greatly influenced our direction leading to a campaign for a new building to house under just one roof the world’s most talented minds and teaching and research activities of the highest calibre with an incredible life-changing potential. The future ahead in a new home in West Cambridge looks bright:  a science hub and idea incubator, which is crucial to continue to bring tangible benefits to society and act as a powerful catalyst to boost the global economy, assisting employment and wealth creation in the UK and beyond.
