Research Group: Paste, Particle and Polymer Processing group (P4G)

Research topic: Research project in the extrusion of hardmetal pastes, involving extrusion experiments on a pharmaceutical-based model paste and a ceramic test paste. Lab-scale ram extruders are used for material property estimation and for modelling studies, using custom experimental rigs to track the frictional shear stress of the paste against the walls of a die chamber. Finite element analysis software, ABAQUS is used to simulate the flow of paste in extrusion geometries.

Biography

Prior qualifications: MEng in Chemical Engineering from the department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Cambridge.
