Biography

Rubens R. Fernandes graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Technology - Parana (Curitiba - Brazil, 2014), and holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the same university (2016) . He joined the Paste, Particle and Polymer Processing group (P4G) in 2017, to start his PhD on cleaning of viscoplastic soil layers using impinging water jets under the supervision of Prof. Ian Wilson and Dr. Bart Hallmark. He is also a member of St John's College.

Rubens has experience in the rheology of yield stress materials, having worked as a research assistant (2010-2016) and research engineer (2016-2017) at the Research Center for Rheology and Non-Newtonian Fluids (Curitiba, Brazil).
