Our postgraduate offering 

Our highly international postgraduate community currently comprises around 180 talented students, completing the MPhil or PhD by research in chemical engineering or biotechnology, or are taking one of our three taught Master’s Courses that provide training in business and management as well as in science.

Research Programmes

Master’s in Science & Business Programmes

  • M.Phil. in Advanced Chemical Engineering (ACE) - an 11-month taught course that offers both conventional research experience and knowledge of advanced aspects of chemical engineering, together with essential areas of business administration.
  • M.Phil. in Bioscience Enterprise (MBE) -  an intensive, life science business course lasting nine-months that fosters professional business and management skills through a highly interactive curriculum, business engagements, and placements. 
  • M.Phil in Biotechnology - an 11-month taught/research programme that offers an interdisciplinary curriculum at the interface of biology with the physical sciences and technology, provides practical and research experience, and promotes transferable skills to train business-savvy scientists and future leaders in biotechnology.

Postgraduate study is the best way to take your expertise and skills to the next stage and our virtual  open days are a great opportunity to find out more about our wide range of postgraduate courses designed for your career advancement.

As we are currently unable to hold events in the deparment, we wanted to bring our open days directly to you. To do this, we have designed an online open day event packed with some general  information of studying at Cambridge and the department (CEB) but, more specifically, information about your course of interest.

You can watch  videos of some of our postgraduate courses on our Youtube channel and you will be able to tour our cutting edge facilities by visiting our space on the University virtual tour platform.

We will also be running a live webinar with a series of mini presentations on our diffrent courses and study options as well as an informal Q&A session at the end. You will not only find out more about our Masters' courses and research programmes in chemical engineering and biotechnology, but you will also have the chance ask specific questions on your course of interest as we will have dedicated chat rooms run by our course co-ordinators and former/current graduate students.
