Awards for Abhishek Deshpande

Abhishek Deshpande completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from this department in 2009. He worked on Biochemical microreactors supervised by Professor Nigel Slater and was a member of Trinity Hall. 

He then went into a career in finance and consulting, with the French bank Natixis. There, he helped set up and expand their energy research and was instrumental in designing and launching the annual Oil Review, Natixis’ flagship publication on oil. He currently heads the energy research team at Natixis.

Abhishek has recently been awarded the Energy Executive of the Year from Petroleum Economist and his team was awarded the Commodity research house of the year by Energy Risk in 2016. The two awards were handed out at an exclusive dinner ceremony in Houston and London.

Abhishek Deshpande holds Chartered Engineer status from the Institute of Chemical Engineers (UK) as well as the Energy Institute (UK). He sits on the national committee of the World Petroleum Council. He has published several papers on the oil price and energy economics.
