Best presentation prize for Ting-Yueh Liu

Ting-Yueh Liu

Ting-Yueh Liu attended the Spring School for Computational Combustion using High Performance Computing, held in the Department of Engineering, Cambridge, on 2nd - 3rd April 2009. She was awarded the prize for the best oral presentation. Her talk was entitled 'Effects of natural convection on thermal explosion in a spherical reactor' and is concerned with how natural convection influences the transition of an exothermic chemical reaction from a stable to an explosive state.

This workshop, organised by the Consortium on Computational Combustion for Engineering Applications, aimed to offer a chance for research students and combustion engineers to network and meet the member of the consortium. The content of the workshop covered some of the most advanced numerical techniques and models for computational combustion.

Ting-Yueh Liu is a second-year PhD student in the Fluids and Environment Group.
