Dr Alexander Edwards won a poster prize at the Annual bioProcessUK Conference in York on 25-26 November 2009.

The poster was entitled A Novel Formulation for Oral Delivery of Live Bacterial Vaccines.

Al is member of the Bioscience Engineering Group. With help from Pratichi Chatterjee, a research student on the MPhil in Advanced Chemical Engineering course and the project leader, Professor Nigel Slater, this research aims to develop a new generation of low cost oral vaccines. The programme is funded by the Technology Strategy Board as part of a consortium including the UK biotechnology company Cobra Biomanufacturing and Royal Holloway University of London.
