Christina Karapataki has just been named as one of this year's Forbes 30 Under 30 in the energy category (January, 2017). She graduated from this department in 2010 with an MEng and now makes venture capital investments on behalf of Schlumberger, the world's biggest oilfield services company. In recent years she has deployed $9 million in 10 financings of companies including Nantero, Onapsis, 908 Devices and Naturafrac.
While she was studying here, she was awarded one of the Graduate prizes from The Salters' Institute of Industrial Chemistry, she won a research project prize for her work on The Cambridge Disk Microreactor and she and her partner reached the finals of the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) £5K Entrepreneurs' Challenge.
We congratulate her on now being named by Forbes as one of the promising young people working on energy issues and one of the best minds reimagining our energy future.
