The inaugural Suntouched D-Zero Nationals are currently (23 – 25 May 2015) taking place off Calshot, near Southampton and Jon Cowper, one of the staff at this Department, is taking part.

Jon has the dual role here of being a Computer Officer and a laboratory technician and in his spare time he enjoys sailing and historical re-enactments.

A D-Zero is a small sailboat, just 4.2m in length, sailed single handed.

Jon Cowper appears in the list of people to watch out for with this comment, "One of the entries at the Nationals from Hunts SC, picked up a race win at the inaugural D-Zero Open at Oxford, clearly not one to be ignored as long as he keeps the boat upright."
