Professor Howard Chase has been appointed as the new Head of the School of Technology. Professor Lynn Gladden congratulated him on this appointment and said, "Howard will, of course, still remain an active member of this Department, but will now have a few extra little tasks to deal with!"

Formally the Head of the School of Technology is the Chairman of the Council of the School and is the principal academic officer of the School and is responsible to the Council of the School, the General Board, and the Vice-Chancellor for the overall running of the School.

The institutions within the School are the Department of Engineering, The Computer Laboratory, The Judge Business School, The Department of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology and The Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership.

Prof Chase said, "I intend to work closely with the various heads of institutions and the senior University officers to ensure that the University provides the necessary resources to enable our institutions to retain their world-class reputations in their individual fields, and that collectively 'Technology' is considered to be a major and growing strength within the University."
