Cambridge Ranked Number 1 for Chemical Engineering

last modified Jun 01, 2018 11:58 AM

This Department has an international reputation for excellence in both its teaching and its research. Cambridge is regularly ranked as the "best" chemical engineering course in the UK and we have remained on the top of two League tables for undergraduate courses that have just come out.

The Complete University Guide for 2019 shows Cambridge as Number 1, with Oxford second and Imperial third. The ranking is based on scores for

  • Entry Standards
  • Student Satisfaction
  • Research Quality
  • Graduate Prospects

All the data come from sources in the public domain, such as the National Student Survey and the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) provided data for entry standards, student-staff ratios, spending on academic services, facilities spending, good honours degrees, graduate prospects, completion and international student enrolments.

The Guardian University Guide for 2019 also shows Cambridge as Number 1.
