Reception for Dr Scott

Dr David Scott

A drinks reception took place on Wednesday 16 May 2012 at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology in recognition of the work of Dr David Scott.

Members of academic staff gathered to thank David Scott for many years of excellent service to the Department as Director of Teaching. 

Professor Nigel Slater said a few words and thanked Dr Scott for his immense contribution over many years and the acclaim that this has won the Department.

Dr Scott has been instrumental in developments of the course which have broadened the undergraduate curriculum, to the considerable benefit of students.

He has examined and been Chairman of Examiners in all parts of the Tripos. He has taken on the highest level of responsibility for the management of teaching activities in the Department, and provides expert and reliable guidance to the Head of Department in all teaching matters.

Dr Patrick Barrie will now take over as Director of Teaching and so become Deputy Head of Department (Teaching).
