Special Journal Issue on Quantitative Fluorescence Microscopy

Quantitative Fluorescence Microscopy Issue

A themed issue on quantitative fluorescence microscopy is published in February by the Royal Society Interface Journal. The issue is dedicated in its entirety to the first International Theodor Förster lecture series organised by Clemens Kaminski and Alessandro Esposito of the Laser Analytics group. The compendium features review and original articles by some of the world's foremost microscopists on the current state-of-the-art in the field. All articles are free to download and more information is found under:Quantitative Fluorescence Microscopy Issue

The Laser Analytics Group hosted the Theodor Förster Lecture series at the University of Cambridge throughout the 2007/2008 academic year. The emphasis was on the quantitative application of state-of-the-art optical methods to solve problems in the life sciences.

The series is in memory of Prof. Theodor Förster (1910-1974) whose ground breaking discoveries in photochemistry led to the development of some of the most powerful techniques available today in the arsenal of biophysicists.

Permission for use of images was obtained from the copyright holders, the University of Stuttgart Archive, Mrs. Martha Förster, and the Journal of the Royal Society Interface.
