Dr Sabine Bahn and Dr Graham Christie

Dr Sabine Bahn and Dr Graham Christie have been promoted to University Lectureships, with effect from 1 January 2012. The Appointments Board met on 19 July and approved the appointments.

Head of Department, Professor Nigel Slater said, "This is exceptionally good news for CEB.  Both Sabine and Graham are outstanding researchers and I am delighted that they will continue to strengthen our biotechnology research. I congratulate them wholeheartedly and look forward to their company on our staff."

Dr Bahn directs the Cambridge Centre for Neuropsychiatric Research, working to define the molecular basis of schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder.

Dr Christie's research focuses on spore forming bacteria - which are of major significance in the healthcare, food processing and other sectors - with a view to understanding the molecular mechanisms that underpin the process of spore germination.
