We've merged!

Lynn Gladden and Chris Lowe

The Department of Chemical Engineering and the Institute of Biotechnology have now merged to form a new Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge.

The merger was described by the chemical engineer as a Marriage of Love and the wedding reception took the form of a Champagne Lunch in Nevile's Court, Trinity College on 1 August. The picture show Profs Lynn Gladden and Chris Lowe toasting the new department at the lunch.

The decision to merge was taken after several years of close collaboration and discussion between the Department and the Institute and we look forward to many years of fruitful shared teaching and research.
