The winners of the 2024 Robin Paul Research Paper Prize have been announced. With twelve exceptional submissions, the prize committee faced the considerable challenge of evaluating each one and selecting the winner. Each submission is a testament to the diverse and exciting research being conducted within our department.

Sarah Barron and Sophie Oldroyd, SensorCDT students and members of the BioElectronic Systems Technology (BEST) Research Group, have been awarded the prize for their paper entitled 'A Conformable Organic Electronic Device for Monitoring Epithelial Integrity at the Air Liquid Interface'. You can find a link to their paper at the end of this article.

Sarah and Sophie had a few words to share on their award win:

"It was lovely to receive recognition from the department for a paper that we believe is impactful, reflecting amount of work that went into it! Working together as two women in STEM was an incredible experience, and this recognition is the cherry on top of an already wonderful experience! "

Many congratulations to Sarah and Sophie! We look forward to hearing more about your research at the award lecture in Easter Term.

The Dr. Robin Paul Prize is awarded each year for the best research paper published by a PhD student as first author at CEB in the preceding year. The recipients receive a cash prize and the opportunity to give a lecture on their research to the department.
