How membership works
Join our network of responsible innovators
Membership of the Student Support Network is selective and values-led. We work with organisations that share our commitment to education, ethics and impact – and who can offer meaningful engagement with our students.
Membership runs for 12 months – and is open to companies of all sizes – subject to approval by our advisory group.
All funds directly support student–industry activity that shapes the future of chemical engineering and biotechnology.

Standard membership = £1,000 + VAT
Special discount rate for SMEs and start-ups (particularly homegrown companies) = £500 + VAT
Membership runs for 12 months and is reviewed annually.

How to apply for membership
- Complete and submit the [online application form]
- Application reviewed by network's Advisory Group
- Outcome shared within 2–3 weeks
- Successful applicants directed to University e-Sales payment platform
- Membership activated upon payment
- Get involved with events, mentoring, placements, talks, collaborations
- Feedback and renewal invitation sent near membership end

Student Support Network launch webinar
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is launching its collaborative Student Support Network – and we’re inviting companies to be part of it.
This online session will introduce the Network and explain how your organisation can get involved. You’ll hear from academics, undergraduates and industry partners about how the Network is shaped by the needs of both students and companies – offering a platform for meaningful engagement, collaboration and recruitment.
Member benefits include:
- Promoting internships, graduate jobs and placements directly to students
- Contributing to student recruitment, mentoring and undergraduate course development
- Company profiling in our list of supporters
- Invitations to Network events – from careers fairs and skills workshops to project collaborations, company visits and an annual industry meeting
