Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology

Biography

Dr. Alexander Boys received his B.S. (high honors) in Materials Science and Engineering from Lehigh Univeristy (USA) and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University (USA). Alex's Ph.D. work focused on the characterization and subsequent synthesis of biological interfaces, mainly focusing on the ligamentous attachment of the meniscus of the knee joint into bone. Upon completion of his Ph.D., Alex began his postdoctoral position in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge in the BioElectronic Systems and Technologies (BEST) Group. He works on the tissue engineering of vasculature for the gut and the development of devices for monitoring cell behavior.
