Biography
Dr. Md. Hanif Seddiqui is now working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the University of Cambridge (UK). Moreover, he has completed his PostDoc fellowship under the European Erasmus Mundus cLINK Programme in the DISP Laboratory, University Lumiere Lyon 2, France and also a short fellowship from KDE Lab, Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. Dr. Seddiqui has achieved his Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan with a number of research awards. His doctoral dissertation title was ”Ontology Alignment and Its Application to Knowledge Engineering”. He developed a scalable algorithm in the field of large ontology alignment, called Anchor-Flood algorithm, which was presented in Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) campaign, 2008 in Germany and 2009 in USA. The contribution has been published in the Journal of Web Semantics and being awarded as the “Most Cited Article” by the Elsevier. He has secured a number of “Best Paper” awards in several renowned conferences. He has a few more remarkable contributions on instance matching, Semantic NLP, healthcare and geospatial domain using semantic technology as well. Dr. Seddiqui is a regular member of the conference program committees in the areas of machine learning, data mining, and semantic web as well as a reviewer of some journals. He has also been awarded "Rahe Vander Ennoble Award" for his contribution as a technologist in Bangladesh on March, 2021.
Teaching and Supervisions
Dr. Seddiqui has been involved in teaching at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh since 2003.
