Summary

Terahertz spectroscopy is a potential new tool to help overcoming some of the challenges we face in formulating biopharmaceuticals and bring innovative medicines to the patient. However, terahertz spectroscopy is not yet proven in routine biopharmaceutical analysis; it is still a novel technology and a sound understanding of the scientific merits and industrial utility remain to be fully assessed. A range of opportunities in the solid state characterisation of freeze dried products will be explored.
